Seo Yea-Ji wants to become a TV news anchor

Seo Ye-ji (Korean: 서예지; also spelled as Seo Ye-ji) is a South Korean actress. Seo’s initial plan was to be a TV news anchor, but things changed when she drew the eye of the CEO of her then-management company, Made in Chan Entertainment, who urged her to try acting. She debuted in the entertainment sector in March 2013, when she appeared in a commercial for SK Telecom. In May 2013, she played the character of Min-joo in the Samsung Galaxy S4 short film Love. From September 23, 2013 until May 15, 2014, she made her acting debut in the tvN sitcom Potato Star 2013QR3, which aired for 120 episodes.

In 2014 Seo Yea-Ji nominated for Best New Actress at the 2014 MBC Drama Awards

She subsequently went on to star in the MBC historical drama Diary of a Night Watchman (2014), for which she received a nomination for Best New Actress at the 2014 MBC Drama Awards. Following that, she starred as a civil servant in the tvN television series Super Daddy Yeol (2015) and the popular jTBC television series Last (2015).

Seo made her big screen debut in the popular historical drama film The Throne (2015), where she played Queen Jeongsun, after gaining fans’ interest with her drama Last. Her film Circle of Atonement was released after that (2015). She also participated in the music video “Let’s Not Fall In Love” by South Korean boy band Big Bang (2015).

She left Chan Entertainment in 2016 and starts working with King Entertainment

She made her big-screen debut in the film Seondal: The Man Who Sells the River (2016), in which she played one of the major characters in the KBS drama Moorim School: Saga of the Brave (2016). Following that, she appeared as a supporting character in the KBS drama Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth (2016-17). Seo left Made in Chan Entertainment in 2016 after her contract with her management business ended, and she began working with King Entertainment.

Seo’s first leading role in 2017 was in the film Another Way (2017), which dealt with the theme of suicide pacts.   When she participated in the OCN thriller mystery television series Save Me  (2017), audiences nicknamed her the “New Thriller Queen”.

Seo was appointed an honorary police officer by the National Police Agency as a result of her role in 2018

She later acted alongside Kim Jung-Hyun in the world’s first 4DX VR film, Stay With Me (2018). In the tvN drama Lawless Lawyer (2018), she co-starred with Lee Joon-gi as a lawyer who struggles to manage her temper. The show was a commercial success, and it went on to become one of the most popular Korean dramas in cable television history. Seo signed with Gold Medalist talent agency

Seo’s first project with her new management business was the broadcast romance drama It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, which aired on tvN and Netflix (2020). She played a bestselling children’s book author with a personality issue, alongside Kim Soo-hyun in the film. The New York Times named the series one of “The Best International Shows of 2020” and described Seo’s performance as “mesmerizing.” Seo gained a lot of fame and received a lot of media attention in Korea and around the world.

In 2021, she co-starred with Kim Kang-woo in the mystery thriller film Recalled, directed by Seo Yoo-min, which was a box office hit. On its debut weekend, Recalled topped the box office in the area.
