Dua Lipa Shares New Song “Can They Hear Us”
Dua Lipa won best pop vocal album for the third time at the Grammy Awards in 2021, beating over Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift.
Dua Lipa has released a new single called “Can They Hear Us,” which will be featured on the Gully soundtrack. It’s filmmaker Nabil Elderkin’s first feature film, and he previously collaborated with Dua Lipa on the video for “Don’t Start Now.”
21 Savage, ScHoolboy Q, Ty Dolla $ign, Miguel, Gary Clark Jr., Buddy, and others contribute to the album. Travis Scott, who isn’t included on the soundtrack, makes an appearance in the film.
Dua Lipa is an English singer and songwriter who was born on August 22, 1995. She joined Warner Bros. Records in 2014 after working as a model and released her self-titled debut album in 2017. The album reached number three upon on UK Albums Chart, and eight singles were released, including “Be the One,” “IDGAF,” and the UK number-one song “New Rules,” which also charted at number six in the United States. The album has been certified platinum in every country it has been released in. Lipa was named British Female Solo Singer and British Breakthrough Act just at the 2018 Brit Awards.
Her 2018 single “One Kiss,” which she co-wrote with Calvin Harris, reached number one in the UK and became the oldest number-one song for a female artist. It earned her the Brit Award for Song of the Year in 2019. She received the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2019 and the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording for her Silk City duet “Electricity.” Her single “Don’t Start Now” reached number two in the United Kingdom and the United States, as well as number four on the US Hot 100 year-end chart. It would be the most successful song by a female artist in the United States in 2020. In the United States and the United Kingdom, the single “Levitating” (2020) reached the top five.
