MAMA Awards 2022: Winners List
The MAMA Awards 2022 ceremony in Osaka, Japan, has come to a conclusion after two days of festivities.
Day 2 of the 2022 MAMA Awards was held on November 30 in Osaka’s Kyocera Dome, with Park Bo Gum as the show’s master of ceremonies.
On November 29, the prizes for Yogibo Worldwide Icon of the Year, Favorite New Artist, Worldwide Fans’ Choice (Bonsang), Yogibo Chill Artist, and Favorite Asian Artist were presented at the show’s Day 1 event.
On the first night, BTS was honoured as the Yogibo Worldwide Icon of the Year, and on the second night, they received the MAMA Platinum Award for becoming “a worldwide cultural phenomenon beyond K-pop.” The four Daesang (Grand Prize) categories at the MAMAs—Worldwide Icon of the Year, Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year—have all been awarded to BTS in the past, and this Platinum honour acknowledges all of their efforts.
Three of the four Daesangs were won by BTS this year, but Song of the Year went to IVE. The rookie female group is just the third to ever win both the Daesang and the rookie award at MAMA in the same year.
